Julia Flasphaler is a second-generation mixed Korean American writer based in Southern California. She was born at Yongsan Garrison in Seoul to an American military father and a Korean mother; her family moved to the US when she was two. She's since lived in many places in California, New Hampshire, Connecticut, New York, Montreal, and France, and calls none, or maybe all, of them home.
